Government College, Ambalapuzha started in the 2010-11 academic year by the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala. It offers arts and science courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is the one and only one higher education institution in the Alappuzha district in the Government sector.

At present we offer three UG programmes (BA in Economics, B.Com. – Computer Applications, B.Sc. in Mathematics) and three PG programmes (MA Economics, MA English Language and Literature, M.Com. Finance)
